Lattes at sunrise over water

fountain.jpg
This weekend we put in the fountain in the gardenroom and this morning we got to go out and have our coffee while we watched the sun rise through the windows behind the fountain. It was a nice feeling of accomplishment. Of course this is only the beginning of the sunroom project but it is a nice beginning.

Another nice addition was a new fish tank Last week we dropped by Mr. Aquarium on the tail end of an errand. They have been renovating their displays and had one of their Oceaniic 55 gallon rigs for sale at a good price. When we moved to CA we had sold off our old tank, rather than move it and Jean had been without a setup for several years. We had kept our coral and pulled it out of storage for the new tank. We will be setting it up and populating it in the coming weeks.

Here comes the fruit

The grapes are darkening and sweetening. We put up bird netting. Looks like it was a good idea because the few brances not netted have been picked clean.

The peaches are ripening also. More on the other varieties as they come along.

Computer Desks Complete

compdesks.jpg
When we first moved into the house, we were looking at doing built-in computer desks to get away from the stark utilitarian look of our past computer furniture. Then we hit upon the idea of computer tables of pillars and glass. We had it set to execute sometime in the future until Hobby Lobby sent us a 40% off email coupon. It was good for one item per person, per day for the week, so every morning Jean and I (and one day Kirk) toddled on down to Hobby Lobby. We each purchased one pillar or glass top each day, dutifully presenting our coupon, and by the end of the week, voila! At last, a computer room even Jean is proud of.
