This has been a week of vacation and Tuesday Kirk and I headed for Carlsbad Caverns. I had not been since I was 16 and this was Kirk's first trip. The photo above is across the Big Room . . .
and this is the hall of giants. We carried a tripod so we could take HDR pictures to capture the range of the lighting.
The events of the past couple of months, Tommy's attack and recovery, serving on the grand jury and becoming a union steward had combined to genuinely shuffle my schedule and show me just how much of a creature of habit I truly was. I had established my routine which enabled my activities (including my blogging). The rug got pulled out from under that routine back in March I have been looking to restablish my equilibrium since then. Well, my vacation has arrived and I have great hopes for using this time restfully and well.
This vacation was originally scheduled for April, but April became the month of grand jury duty and so I elected to reschedule. Now my vacation has begun and I can feel the growing sense of renewal already.
