This has been quite a week by any standard.
Monday: I moved from working evenings, 12 to nine pm to working days 9 to 6 to better fit my new position as Democratic Precinct Chairman. This meant moving to a new team with a new manager and Monday was the first day. I started by moving into my new desk.
Tuesday was the Texas Primary election. I was at the poll at 6 am to introduce myself to the election judge. I went to work and back to the poll at 6:30 pm to conduct the precinct caucus. Jean, Chloe and new precinct friend Danni Citti helped it run smoothly.
Wednesday I was offered a new job I had applied for a few weeks ago with the Office of the President at AT&T Mobility. In the afternoon I was scheduled to present two grievances for the union. Wednesday night I had to go to the Union Hall to explain the pay scale of the new tentative contract that the union and the company are negotiating to a meeting of the union stewards. They will explain it to the rank and file so they can vote to accept or reject the contract at a meeting this Sunday.
Thursday I got to attend a team meeting of my new Office of the President team and met everybody.
Friday I had another grievance to present, and wound up the day moving my things to my new, new desk
Saturday was a delightful day off with Jean though I spent a fair part of it preparing for Sunday's meeting.
Sunday was the big contract presentation for the union. Our president Jack explained all of the proposed changes and I laid out the pay scale. Jack answered questions before everyone voted.
Tomorrow I start in my new position. All in all a very full week.
