Democratic County Convention

countyconv.jpg
I spent yesterday at the Lubbock County Democratic Convention as the Clinton and Obama supporters duked it out for the delegates to be awarded over and above the popular vote. I had sort of a spectator seat to the melee as I was simply manning a table selling t-shirts and buttons to raise money for the county party. The above photo shows delegate check-in an hour after it started. The line of delegates goes down the hall at the top left for thirty yards and then around the corner for fifty more.

It has been a long time since the Texas Primary has been a factor in choosing the nominee. The turnout at my precinct convention was over 10 times what it was in the last election.
