In Memoriam - Jean MacManus

jeansface.jpg
Yesterday morning at 8 am my beloved Jean passed away. Jean had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in October and had been in hospice care at home. Always protective of her privacy, Jean had requested that I not blog about her illness, so nothing has been said. Kirk and I were at her side. Her passing was peaceful and without suffering.
My wife of 27 years, Jean was, quite simply, the center of my existence. I don't know how to even consider a life without her at its core.
Jean was a brilliant and gifted mathematician and computer analyst but, after her family, her central preoccupation was metaphysics. She studied and researched the psychic and spiritual. She received a masters degree in psychology from West Georgia University and her thesis, "Psychic Content in Dreams," is in the university library. Jean and I got to know each other when we were both directors, teaching and counseling at the Foundation for Metaphysical Studies in Dallas.
Jean loved her children, Chloe and Kirk. Jean loved flowers, gemstones, her garden and her porcelains and I will be eternally grateful that, for over a quarter of a century, Jean loved me.
A great light has left the world and ours will be dimmer without her, but she has returned home and will be at peace. May God enfold and rest her soul and spirit.
Photos of Jean are available here.

Dearest Pat,
Tears came to my eyes as I read your blog.
One thing that I will always regret is not getting the opportunity to really get to know and spend time with Aunt Jean. I always knew that she was an amazing woman.
You're truly blessed to have had her in your life for so many years. I'm so sorry for the sadness in the family. Yes, she is home, safe and happy again.

Please keep the blogs coming, as I do check in from time to time.

I wish everyone the best through this process of losing someone so very wonderful.

Love Amber
